Would storing opened packages that have been sealed in freezer proof containers last more than the 2-3 weeks you referenced in the prior answer to coffee storage? I have several different flavors of Gevalia and would like the option of brewing different flavors throughout the week and/or day.
Would storing the ceramic canister in the refrigerator rather than on the countertop extend the life of the coffee and it's freshness?
Yes, the coffee will still taste fresh much longer than the expiration date. I do this all the time.
Don't put your canisters in the refrigerator or freezer, as the metal parts will rust. The rubber gaskets can also crack if they are frozen. I found this out the hard way. :)
