This is a smooth, full of flavour coffee, without being too strong. It will be easily accepted by different palates. So if your family has different preferences in coffee, try this one.
The 4 crowns only relate to my scale of preferences within the different coffees offered by Gevalia.

I tried several "Kenya" coffees before, from various vendors, and they usually were very tasteful. This one, big disappointment, it doesn't matter how I made it, it always had a very bitter taste. I even tried to make it a lot weaker than I usually do, to no success. I'm not buying it again.
No, I do not recommend this product.

This is my favourite within all Gevalia Coffees I tried so far. It is full of flavours and velvety in the mouth. If this were the only variety offered, I would still be a Gevalia member. And this is my choice gift to all coffee lover friends, specially to Brazilian expats,
Note that I only have my coffee strong, using 2 full spoons of grounded coffee for every cup of water.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Is this the gold filter that does not require the paper filters??
Yes, it is. I was a bit suspicious when used it for the first time but it is ok, and is easy to clean.

No. 4 paper filters fit my Gevalia 12 cup Model CM650 coffee brewer but I want to fit a permanent filter to it. WIll your Gevalia Goldtone Coffee Filter fit this model?
Yes, #4 is a standard size for paper cones or permanent filters, you can buy it with no hesitation.

I'll bet it's a #4 - I bought one last year and don't remember having a size option. Even because Gevalia is not selling the smaller coffee makers any more.

Does it have the gold tone permanent filter
It comes with a small sample pack of paper cone filters #4. For a permanent filter you need to place a separate order, which is also supplied by Gevalia.

How do I clean this coffemaker. I know my coffee would taste better if I could get the residue out of the filter/coffee holder.
I always run a cycle of filtered water in between pots, and also only make my brews with filtered water - as I live in a hard water area. In Italy we never use anything but water to clean coffee pots and makers.
If you prefer, here at Gevalia website, they sell a pot cleaner stuff called Cleancaf® Coffeemaker Cleaner. Click on Gifts and Accessories at the brown bar at the top of the page. Then "Accessories" from the drop down menu.

How do I remove the used filter from the coffeemaker?
I cannot find any way to release the filter holder to remove used filters? And i cannot find any instruction booklet. I have to lift the used filter out and that does not seem efficient. What am I missing?
I never even tried to lift the filter holder, I always grab the used filter and throw it. I don't see any problem with that. But if you have to lift something, buy the permanent gold filter that has an attached handle to facilitate disposal.

how long does the coffeemaker stay on before the auto shut off turns the machine off
It will stay on for about 2 hours. In any case, the coffee is not as good, to my taste, after the first half hour.
