The Breakfast Blend was all I expect good coffee to be. I wonder where the beans are sourced from, but I am guessing South America, simply due to the smoothness and consistency. This coffee is great for your early morning wake-up, but could be in the coffee pot at work all day as well. It has a nice aftertaste and they got just the right amount of coffee's bitterness down to an art. Bravo!

I have now gathered up about a dozen boxes of Gevalia kaffe, because I lived in Sweden and developed a taste for Gevalia's roasting. Since then, I've been to Colombia and experienced some of the freshest coffees in the world, which combined makes me a connoisseur of Gevalia's Colombian mark. For variety's sake, I tried this French roast, as I have enjoyed French roast from other companies and love sipping French coffee in France. How could I go wrong? Well, the best way I could describe the flavor is something reminiscent of coal smoke or diesel exhaust. It had a strong chemical flavor. I hope I got a bad batch, as I don't think it's fair to read others' posts prior to submitting mine... But if it is what it is and you've got a taste for kål (coal in Swedish) or bensin (gasoline), then by all means try this! You'll love it!

Is store product different?
Gevalia coffee now in grocery stores. Different packaging. Is the coffee the exact same product as the mail order product. Exact same?
No, the store product, for one, I have never seen as whole bean - which is the only way to enjoy coffee - freshly ground every morning! The bags, however, are of a larger size. Also, there is less variety in the store...maybe six or seven blends.
